Robert McCoy is the Unmanned Aerial Systems Program manager at Crown Castle. Crown Castle is the leading wireless infrastructure company in the US that has been in business for over 25 years as an owner and operator of wireless network assets. With an enterprise value over $80 Billion and over 5,000 employees managing over 40,000 towers, 80,000 route miles of fiber and 70,000 smalls cells on air or under contract Crown Castle functions as the backbone for the wireless world.
Robert has worked in the telecommunications infrastructure industry since graduating from NC State with a MS in Civil Engineering. From there he has performed engineering, construction, mapping and inspections management roles over the past 15 years. Robert serves on several industry drone committees and has been a part of NATE (the communications infrastructure contractors association), Telecommunications Industry Association, Commercial Drone Alliance, ANSI and NASA UAS integration group. Recently completing his MBA and studying the future of automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, Robert pushes companies to bring the solutions needed to realize the full value of this technology in the vertical infrastructure industry.
