Ted is currently a Fire Captain II for the Los Angeles City Fire Department assigned to a US&R Station at LAX, and is the Commander of the LAFD UAS program.
Ted joined LAFD in 1980 and has held the ranks of Firefighter for 8 years, Engineer for 8 years and has been Fire Captain for 25 years. He has received numerous training and certifications within his tenure with the department.
Ted is also a member of FEMA California Task Force I. He is a California State Fire Marshal certified US&R and Firefighter I instructor and part of the teaching cadre at Antelope Valley College Fire Academy for 15 years. He has held an FAA License as a Private Pilot for over 40 years and was certified as UAS pilot 3 years ago. He also served as a Search & Rescue Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol for 15 years.
Ted was awarded the Medal of Valor for the Las Vegas Shooting in October of 2017.
