Course Outline

Session 1: Handling large datasets.

Monday | October, 1st | 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

The Pix4D Training team considered a dataset with more than 1000 images and/or multiple flights to be a large dataset. In this session we will address best practices for planning, flying, and processing and handling this data.  In this class we will provide our attendees with an example, pre-processed large dataset.

How to set up a project when:

  • Flying one drone over one area of interest
  • Flying multiple drones over one area of interest
  • Flying multiple drones with different payloads over one area of interest
  • Breaking up one area of interest into multiple sub-projects
  • Where to place checkpoints and ground control points throughout the project
  • Tying area’s together with Manual Tie Points

Session 2:  In-Depth Pix4Dmapper Workflow

Monday | October, 1st | 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM

This Session will highlight important aspects of the Pix4D User Workshop, and enable our attendees to have more in-depth conversations with our trainers related to these topics.

  • Outline optimized workflow for Pix4Dmapper
  • Editing the Pointcloud  – Using Point Cloud Classification + Point Cloud Editing Tool
  • Use of Surface Objects for Digital Surface Model
  • Processing Options – Deep Dive
  • Quality Report – Deep Dive
