The Pix4D Training Team will be taking a deep dive into processing projects that contain large datasets in this exclusive Pix4D Workshop. Best practices for planning, flying, organizing, and merging projects will be covered. In addition, we will discuss troubleshooting methods and highlight the Quality Report.

* Register for the workshop when you register for the expo. The Pix4D workshop is offered as an add-on to either Full Conference or Exhibits-Only registration for Commercial UAV Expo Americas.


This workshop is for intermediate/advanced users of Pix4Dmapper. While some fundamentals will be covered, it is expected that students have a basic understanding of the software and have processed projects beforehand.

Learning Objectives

  • Articulate knowledge of large project image acquisition.
  • Understand the theory of georeferencing as well as accuracy validation.
  • Process a project, articulate deliverable quality, and understand sharing capabilities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose errors.


  • Conducting multiple battery swaps with one drone

  • Merging multiple sub-projects with manual tie-points
  • Where to place checkpoints and ground control points throughout the project

Q: Should I bring my laptop to the User Workshop?

A: Please ensure that you bring a laptop computer with the latest version of Pix4Dmapper installed to the User Workshop so that you may follow along during the hands-on exercises. Ensure that your computer is equipped with Windows, has at least 16 GB RAM, 20 GB free hard drive space, and a GPU that supports OpenGL 3.2. Pix4D does not provide loaner computers. We also suggest that users bring a computer mouse to facilitate 3D navigation in the software. A Mouse can also be helpful!

Q: Should I bring my drone to the Workshop?

A: Please DO NOT bring your drone to the workshop. This is a training about software. Under no circumstances will drones be permitted to fly during the workshop. DO NOT fly your drone at or around the workshop venue.

Q: Do I need a license to Pix4Dmapper to attend the workshop?

A: It is not necessary that you own a license to Pix4Dmapper to attend the workshop. If you do not own a license to Pix4Dmapper you will be provided with a license for the duration of the workshop.

Q: Can I attend the workshop remotely by WebEx, phone, or conference call?

A: The workshop may be attended in person and is not available for remote attendance.
