First Sergeant Alex Justice joined the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in 1995. Throughout his career, he has received several certifications in the field of criminal investigative reconstructions. In 2005, Alex received his first promotion and was assigned to the Collision Reconstruction Unit as lead investigator for the western unit. Alex received and has maintained his second promotion to First Sergeant, the entirety of which has been served as the Collision Reconstruction Unit’s Commander. In his effort to consistently lead the Unit and remain current with industry trends, First Sergeant Justice took the initiative to have all Collision Reconstruction members certified as FAA Part 107 Remote Pilots by the end of 2018. As an effective leader, he was one of the first to achieve this certification, and has since managed all Highway Patrol Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operations. Aligned with his passion of recreating fatal collisions in an attempt to accurately relay the series of events on behalf of those no longer having a voice, First Sergeant Justice remains at the forefront of collision reconstruction technology.
