Arjun Garg is a transportation lawyer based in Washington, D.C. at the global law firm Hogan Lovells. He formerly served as the Chief Counsel and Acting Deputy Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and also the Chief Counsel of the Federal Transit Administration. Arjun’s legal practice focuses on advancing innovation across the aviation sector.
During his FAA tenure, Arjun was instrumental in completing foundational rulemakings for drones and commercial space. He also led the agency's legal strategy on the grounding, review, and safe return to service of the 737 MAX, and drove dozens of regulatory actions to sustain the continuity of the U.S. air transportation system in response to COVID-19.
Apart from his experience as a senior regulatory official, Arjun’s background includes a decade of civil litigation experience in administrative law, class action, and commercial matters as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, an associate at an international law firm, and a judicial law clerk.
