Candice McHargue began her aviation career right out of Airframe and Powerplant school at a local fixed based operator. As an aircraft technician at AAR Aircraft Services in Indianapolis, IN, she was promoted to lead technician after three years. Her career at UPS began after attending the 2008 Women in Aviation Conference. Candice has held numerous leadership roles with UPS Airlines Aircraft Maintenance department – Quality Assurance, Planning, Aircraft Maintenance Control, Materials, Fleet Management, Major Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Production Control Center and the Safety Committee.
Candice joined UPS Flight Forward in August 2019 as the UAS Maintenance Controller. She is primary point of contact for the UAS Technicians. She inspects drone parts, components, materials, and tooling to ensure they are in compliance with FAA and UPS procedures, and also works closely with manufacturers.
She founded the Louisville Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance and is currently serving as Treasurer and Hangar Tour Coordinator. She’s also active with the Bluegrass Chapter of Women in Aviation.
Candice has two daughters, Madilyn and Amelia. She enjoys being outdoors – camping, boating and riding four-wheelers – and exercising.
