Jerson Batista has devoted his career to advancing drone technology and Building Information Modeling (BIM). His journey began as the founder of Y Bird Airways, where he led pioneering drone operations in some of the most challenging airspaces, including the first drone flights in Class B airspace at Newark Airport’s airside. He also played a crucial role in developing the UAS operational plan for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and contributed to the integration of drones into NYC airspace.
Currently, Jerson is the Director of Drone Technologies and BIM at Haugland Group, where he continues to build on his experience by expanding the company’s drone operations across various sectors, including civil, energy, and finance. With a strong foundation in engineering and a deep passion for aviation, Jerson focuses on integrating new technologies into existing workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy. Under his guidance, Haugland Group has steadily increased its drone operations, intending to surpass 3200 by the end of 2024.
