As VP of Regulatory Strategy for Matternet, Jim O’Sullivan is responsible for Matternet’s global aviation regulatory work. In addition to leading Matternet’s Type Certification effort in the US, he is also responsible for operational approvals worldwide as well as representing Matternet on standards bodies including select ASTM groups and most recently the FAA BVLOS ARC.
Prior to Matternet, Jim was a design engineer on the Stratolaunch jet at Scaled Composites. Other work includes designing electronics for an ROV exploring the seafloor in Antarctica as well as developing circuit boards and chips for Dish Network, Cisco, and Intel. He is an active FAA-licensed Commercial Pilot with Instrument Rating, and an FAA-licensed Remote Pilot.
