Kara Fragola is an engineer and innovator at Skanska USA Civil. During her time at Skanska, Kara has played a pivotal role in the success of numerous landmark projects, including the LaGuardia Airport Redevelopment, Hunt’s Point Interstate Access Improvement Contract 1, and Harmon Shop Replacement.
Kara leads Skanska’s drone operations for the northeast region. She spearheads the strategic integration of drone technology into various high-profile projects, including the transformative $1.6 billion Portal North Bridge project in Kearny/Secaucus, NJ and the $860 million South Brooklyn Marine Terminal project which will be one of the largest offshore wind ports in the United States.
She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University and a Part 107 FAA License. In 2023, Crain’s New York Business named her a “20 in their 20s” honoree. Beyond project execution, Kara is committed to fostering a culture of construction technology proficiency within Skanska. She actively engages in training and supporting employees to ensure Skanska remains at the forefront of innovation.
