Laura O’Donnell

Laura O’Donnell specializes in aviation insurance with an emphasis on 
Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) or drones. She is a resource for Marsh McLennan Agency nationwide, and has spoken at numerous training and 
presentations for produceres.
Her love for aviation took off as a child and escalated as a newlywed. She and her husband, a private pilot, have spent many weekends in the sky over the years with the vintage aircraft they’ve owned. As EAA chapter members they’ve also participated in over twenty-five annual Fly-Ins where local 
children often have their first aviation experience. She has the unique 
viewpoint of being both an aviation insurance consumer and a producer.
Along the way, Laura found work at Aviation Distributors, Inc., a Piper aircraft distributor and learned in-depth about the aviation industry. In 2010 she opened a property and casualty insurance agency but when presented with the opportunity to focus on aviation through Aviation Solutions, she happily accepted.
Aviation Solutions joined Marsh McLennan Agency in 2016 to form their 
Aviation Practice. The year before joining MMA, a client had called Laura to discuss the very young aviation field of drones. They were interested in 
starting a new business and through her preparation for the client, she 
became captivated with what drone technology offered. She has attended 
numerous conferences including InterDrone and Commercial UAV Expo. She has also given presentations at the Missouri Airport Managers Association, 4 States Conference and most recently, Minnesota Association of School 
Business Officials.
Laura has built her career helping aviation enthusiasts find the right coverage for their aircraft and aviation businesses. Insurance is a critical component for any business, aviation or otherwise, but her expertise in the constantly
changing drone industry and its insurance needs is what set her apart.
