Some of the events he plans include the CrossFit games and Ironman triathlon, as well as state and local events, such as the Madison marathon, protests and dignitary visits. Scott is a police fitness instructor and teaches several training topics at MPD. Scott has led a community policing team and created a nationally recognized community outreach unit at MPD. In January of 2021, Scott took command of MPD’s Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) team. These increases came during challenging political times with staffing and budgetary limitations. The Madison Police Department’s UAS team is now one of the most skilled and active teams in the Midwest. When Scott is not at work, he enjoys traveling the world with his family and coaching a highly competitive 16u fastpitch team.
