Michael Dorr is a Senior Drone Pilot for Florida Power and Light (FPL), who is responsible for conducting planned FPL drone flight operations in support of the Federal Aviation Administration Project Safety Plan, FPL’s drone in a box program, and FPL storm response duties.
Michael has been involved with unmanned aerial systems since 2013, and has been a strong advocate for safety, and flying responsibly. Michael obtained his FAA Part 107 certification in 2018. Michael is been a part of the FPLAir team since its inception.
Michael has extensive experience with storm response, having deployed to many storms along with Hurricanes Michael and Ian. Michael understands the importance of the commitment needed to FPL’s customers in their time of need.
Michael’s previous experience includes over 25 years of software development and geographic information systems experience with Clark County Nevada, Southeast Toyota Distributors, and Florida Power and Light.
