Officer Peter Lashley has been with the Santa Monica Police Department for 20 years and currently serves as the lead UAS / DFR pilot for the department’s UAS team. Officer Lashley has been a member of the SMPD UAS team since its inception 2015 and was instrumental in developing and implementing their DFR program in November of 2021, including controlled airspace integration and implementing technologies to enhance the DFR mission. He serves as an instructor for UAS pilots and DFR operators, both within SMPD as well as outside agencies.
