3Dsurvey

3Dsurvey

What is it?

3Dsurvey is a comprehensive photogrammetry software solution with the ability to process and classify data from any input. Created with the practical needs of surveyors in mind, it is an agile and versatile tool, useful for many different industries.

3Dsurvey v4.1 introduces faster point cloud and mesh calculation, and an innovative new ground orthophoto feature. This option enables users to generate an orthophoto from a bottom-up perspective instead of top-down, to see ground features hidden under trees, overhangs, or other obstacles. This provides a unique view for inspection, planning and accurate vectorization, giving 3Dsurvey a distinct edge.

Who is using it?

3Dsurvey is used by UAV professionals and teams who rely on drones for geospatial data capture and analysis. This includes drone service providers, UAV pilots, and surveyors, as well as geospatial engineers and construction or mining professionals integrating drone workflows into daily operations. Across industries such as construction, mining, infrastructure, and environmental monitoring, users depend on 3Dsurvey to turn UAV data into accurate, actionable deliverables quickly and efficiently.

How is it making an impact?

A large-scale recycling operator at Blue Phoenix Deutschland GmbH uses RTK drone surveys with 3Dsurvey to digitize and manage a 90,000 m² industrial site in Krefeld, Germany. Weekly drone flights using a DJI Mavic 3E produce orthophotos for inventory visualization, while biannual volume calculations ensure accurate material accounting.

What previously required a full day of manual laser measurements is now completed in 15–20 minutes of flight time, with automated processing delivering results within hours. Inventory deviations of 10,000–15,000 tons over six months have been significantly reduced through repeatable, RTK-based UAV workflows.
