What is it?
The AiO-D is a pan-domain Unmanned System capable of operation in air, on ground, at water surface and underwater, changing operation configurations automatically. The AiO-D has 8 cameras and three different controllers, enabling redundancy and edgeAI for data processing and mission performance control. It is able to operate at depths up to 4 m, with autonomous loitering capability (ground, surface and underwater), and it can be operated tethered or untethered and while maintaining communications at all times.
Who is using it?
The AiO-D has been tested by Transport Canada, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, in extreme conditions, and extreme heat and cold (in the Arctic) – having applications in: ISR, security, enforcement, SAR, border patrol, disaster relief, emergency response, public safety, surveying, energy and other infrastructure inspection (incl. underwater infrastructure, ship hulls, ports – above/underwater), agriculture, fisheries, filming, wildlife observation, research, etc.
How is it making an impact?
It is enabling users to optimize mission performance and to perform novel missions, in which multidomain operation is important. Some of the applications include sample collection in air, ground and water, monitorization in multi-environments, surveillance in coast lines, with closeup on ground, at water surface and underwater, on beaches and shore (ex. detection of illegal equipment), maritime monitoring and security, ex. fisheries and illegal fishing (air for travel and approaching and monitoring at water surface and underwater), and others.
