Eanan`s Hydrogen Drone

What is it?

A 25 kg hydrogen-powered multicopter built around a high-efficiency PEM fuel-cell system, enabling more than 90 minutes of continuous flight while carrying a dedicated mission payload.

The platform uses a hybrid architecture combining lightweight hydrogen storage with a fuel-cell powertrain optimized for steady-state cruise, supported by a buffer battery for peak power demands.

Unlike retrofit solutions, the drone was engineered from the ground up around hydrogen propulsion, with the airframe, powertrain layout, cooling system, and weight distribution optimized to maximize efficiency, endurance, and operational reliability.

Who is using it?

The drone is currently in advanced testing and validation. It is being evaluated for future deployment in sectors such as infrastructure inspection, public safety, logistics, environmental monitoring, and energy asset surveillance. These sectors represent high‑value markets where extended endurance directly improves mission economics and operational feasibility. Commercial deployment is planned following validation and regulatory alignment.

How is it making an Impact?

Hydrogen propulsion addresses one of the UAV industry’s biggest limitations: endurance. By leveraging hydrogen’s superior energy density, the platform achieves 2–4× longer flight times than comparable lithium-ion multicopters. This extended endurance enables new mission profiles and improves operational economics. Key advantages include a purpose-built hydrogen architecture optimized for efficiency and safety, rapid refueling within minutes, and reduced operational costs through longer missions and fewer assets required. Hydrogen VTOL platforms remain rare globally and nearly absent in the Middle East, creating a strong early-mover advantage while supporting low-emission operations aligned with future energy and ESG goals.
