Incorporating NIST Standard Test Methods into your Program/Agency/Company

Whether you’re looking for a minimum proficiency training standard for your drone pilots or an objective test measure to compare similar systems against, the Standard Test Methods for UAS, developed by NIST, can be utilized in several important ways for you and your group. Most people, who have seen the NIST test methods, agree they are useful but often struggle to implement them within their own program/agency/company. This session covers several key components for successfully adapting the NIST Standard Test Methods for UAS followed by live demonstrations of various NIST test methods. Stop by one of two showings to learn more about incorporating NIST back home.

Photogrammetry Workflow Demonstration

Join Sundance Media Group, The LiDAR PROs, and Pix4D for a hands-on demonstration of the complete drone photogrammetry workflow. Watch live as drones fly in the indoor cage to capture high-resolution imagery, then see how that data is processed in Pix4D to create detailed 2D and 3D models.

Experience the process from flight → data capture → processing → actionable results, while exploring real-world applications for mapping, construction, surveying, inspection, and documentation.

Introduction to NIST Standard Test Methods for UAS (Levels 1-3)
Come learn about the Standard Test Methods for Response Robots project at NIST (National Institute of Standards & Technology), specifically the Aerial Test Methods for UAS. Applicable to commercial, agricultural, and industrial UAS operations, these Standard Test Methods can be utilized by all drone pilots, not just public safety personnel.  Focusing on the Levels 1-3 open air environment tests, we will briefly cover the concepts, design and functionality of these tests, followed by several live demonstrations of Level 3 Open Lane flights in the Indoor Airspace.  Stop by one of several showings to learn more about Levels 1 – 3.

Developing the Next Generation of UAS Pilots: FIDA USA Class 20 EVOLUTION Drone Soccer

Experience the safest and most popular drone soccer systems for ages 7 to 87. Get your skills ready to fly and experience the thrill and opportunities available today.Get your school district involved
Speakers/Pilots: Tim Ingram introduces Tony Ried (USA National team captain), who will explain traveling with students to various events around the world with FIDA USA Drone Soccer. Roseanne Denton will talk about school programs for youth. FIDA Pilots will help you experience the class 20 firsthand.

Utilizing NIST Standard Test Methods in Obstructed and Confined Environments (Levels 4-5)

Following the Introduction to NIST Standard Test Methods for UAS (Levels 1-3) presentation, this session will cover the next two levels, 4 & 5, of the Aerial Test Method suite for UAS designed by NIST. Level 4 focuses on the obstructed outdoor flight environment, while Level 5 pertains to indoor confined flight environment. We will briefly cover the concepts, design and functionality of these tests, followed by several live demonstrations of Level 5 Scenarios in the Indoor Airspace. Stop by one of two showings to learn more about Levels 4 & 5.
