Indoor Airspace Demo Area

September 1-3, 2026 | Caesars Forum | Las Vegas

Watch. Learn. Fly.

From live demos to hands-on challenges, the Indoor Airspace brings UAS innovation to life — right on the expo floor.

The Indoor Airspace gives you a front-row seat to leading manufacturers and solution providers putting their latest technology through its paces in real time. Watch live flying demos inside the netted enclosure and software showcases on surrounding displays, all designed to bring the latest UAV technology to life.

This dynamic 40′ x 50′ x 15′ netted enclosure, designed and operated in cooperation with Sundance Media Group, offers a unique chance to watch cutting-edge drones in action and get hands-on with the gear. Whether you’re looking to see the latest innovations demonstrated by industry leaders or test your own skills on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) course, the Indoor Airspace on the Exhibit Floor is your place to connect, learn, and experience UAV technology firsthand.

2026 Indoor Airspace Demonstrations

Solar Inspection Thermography Demo

See firsthand how Thermography can be used for a solar panel inspection in this interactive demo with Jason Wood, Master Thermographer and Pilot Institute UAS Program Lead. Jason will demonstrate best practices for a successful inspection mission, including identifying and recording thermal anomalies.

Standard Test Methods for Platform Evaluation and Pilot Proficiency
Discover how NIST’s standard test methods help pilots and organizations raise the bar on safety, proficiency, and mission success. These proven methods provide a consistent, reproducible way to train and measure remote pilot skills — enabling organizations to set and meet their own minimum proficiency standards, reduce risk to people and aircraft, and ensure mission reliability. At the Indoor Airspace, experts from NIST will discuss the benefits of pilot credentialing and how these test methods can be used to evaluate both pilot performance and drone capabilities across a variety of mission types. You’ll also have the chance to see the course in action and even try it out yourself in the drone cage — a fun, hands-on opportunity to test your skills and experience the challenge. (Please note: onsite participation is for demonstration purposes only and does not result in official credentialing.) Note: Spots for hands-on participation are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Heavy Lift UAS Drone Rescue Demonstration
See firsthand how heavy lift drones can deliver life-saving equipment, improving rapid response times and ultimately saving lives.  Kyle Nordfors of Mountain Rescue Association and Weber County Search and Rescue will demonstrate how UAS technologies can enhance SAR and Public Safety missions.  After the demonstration, join Kyle in the Pilot Hub for a presentation diving deeper into subject.
The Ultimate Aerial NDT Platform
Join us for a live flight demonstration of the Voliro T – the world’s most advanced flying robot for contact-based inspection of industrial assets. Witness how the Voliro T performs precision-controlled inspections on vertical, inclined, and overhead surfaces using its innovative tiltable rotor design. The demo will showcase key capabilities such as: – Stable and precise flight in GPS-denied environments – 360° orientation and full-surface coverage – Touch-based inspection techniques including UT, EMAT, and PEC Don’t miss this opportunity to see the Voliro T in action and learn how it is transforming inspection workflows for energy, oil & gas, and industrial sectors.
