Designed for easier scalability of drone services, the just-launched A2Z AirDock portfolio offers multiple weatherproof dock variants that automate charging and enable nonstop drone missions with endless range. The A2Z AirDock can be deployed as a single dock to take advantage of its automatic charging, or establish a network of drone docks to endlessly increase service area. Customers can choose to purchase the AirDock and drone fleet outright, or take advantage of A2Z’s new drone-network-as-a-service (DNaaS) subscription model to minimize the upfront infrastructure investment.
The company has designed four variants of the AirDock to support up to four drones simultaneously. These multi-drone docks allow multiple stakeholders to share a regional dock infrastructure, conducting independent service missions while defraying the individual investment in a regional network. The portable AirDocks can be deploy easily to a rooftop drone base, and elevated fixed docks enable drones to perch at altitude safely out of reach of people and property on the ground.
The AirDock pairs with a companion Longtail AirDock Edition drone, a specially modified version of the company’s proven commercial UAV platform that has been engineered to automatically charge on the AirDocks. It incorporates an autonomous precision landing capability and other features purpose-built for the AirDocks. The Longtail can be customized for just about any mission parameters, but at launch, A2Z is offering two curated payload packages for autonomous cargo missions and autonomous patrol missions.
Leveraging A2Z’s ground control station software for remote fleet operations management, operators can design pre-planned mission routes to conduct non-stop dock-to-dock missions. Separate from the pilot interface, A2Z has developed a new web-based interface for end customers to request services like pickups or deliveries, monitor patrol missions, view live patrol footage, and more.
