Adrien Briod

After a MSc in robotics at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) and Harvard University, Adrien pursued a PhD at the prestigious EPFL (Laboratory of Intelligent Systems) in Switzerland, during which he developed and patented novel approaches for the stabilization of flying robots in cluttered environments. Through 6 years of research in the field, Adrien mastered all aspects of flying robot technology including mechanical, electrical and software engineering. In 2014, he co-founded Flyability with Patrick Thévoz, and since then the two have pioneered remote inspection technology with growing influence across the globe. Flyability’s flagship drone, the Elios 3, has been used to inspect nuclear power plants, industrial assets, and emergency sites to safely gather critical data.
