David McVey

David is the Director of Global Drone Operations for Sedgwick Claims Management. David retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department after 27 years of service. He relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he obtained his first drone and Part 107 in 2018 as a fire investigator. At that time, Sedgwick operated 30 generally unstructured drones. David advocated for and developed new internal policies and procedures to improve operations compliance. In 2022, he was transferred to the Sedgwick Aviation Department as Global Director of UAV Operations, focusing on training and regulatory compliance internationally. Sedgwick now operates over 125 drones across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
