Michael Lever, BA, CSMP, is a founder and technical security consultant based in Johannesburg, South Africa. A graduate of the Witwatersrand Business School, Michael has been active in the security sector since 2000. In 2009, he founded Metagrated—a risk advisory and security integration consultancy serving residential estates, multinational corporations, security companies, and diplomatic missions—and recently stepped down as a director to dedicate himself entirely to technical innovation.
Today, Michael specializes in the deployment and integration of drone technology within security programmes, bridging the gap between IT and operational technology (OT). His work spans system architecture, sensor fusion, data analytics and command-and-control workflows, enabling clients to harness emerging tech, big data and automated platforms to meet the complex challenges of modern security.
