Lieutenant Nate Lange serves with the Elk Grove Police Department in Northern California (Sacramento County). A graduate of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Academy in 2009, he joined the Elk Grove Police Department in 2011 and has built a distinguished career through a variety of operational and leadership assignments.
Throughout his tenure, Lieutenant Lange has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Professional Standards Sergeant, Patrol Watch Commander, and has held several leadership positions within the Elk Grove Police Officers Association, including Vice President, President, and Sergeant at Arms.
He currently serves as the Commander of the Special Operations Bureau, overseeing the department’s SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiations Team, Special Equipment Officers, and more than 30 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilots, including the department’s innovative Drone as First Responder (DFR) Program.
Lieutenant Lange holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement Management from Union University and a Master of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego.
