Robert Ford

Rob oversees governance of all UAS operations at SCE, including standards, risk management, operational integration and strategic use of remote sensing technologies. Rob previously supported aviation‑related programs involving drone inspections, aerial LiDAR, vehicle procurement, with a career rooted in aviation safety and UAS technology within utility environments. Before joining SCE, Rob worked as a civil and process engineer delivering alternative‑fuel infrastructure, including North America’s first retail LNG station and more than 20 hydrogen fueling stations, and supported construction/campus planning at Pepperdine. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science, with Honors, in Civil Engineering from the University of Plymouth, is FAA Part 107 certified and maintains two FAA‑approved Beyond Visual Line of Sight waivers.
