Ted Kalnas

Ted is currently a Captain II for the Los Angeles City Fire Department assigned to a USAR Station.  He joined LAFD in 1980.  He was an Engineer for eight years and a Captain I for 15 years.  He has received numerous training and certifications within his tenure with the department. 
 Ted is also a member of FEMA California Task Force I.  He is a California State Fire Marshal certified instructor and part of the teaching cadre at Antelope Valley College Fire Academy for 15 years.  He has held an FAA License as a Private Pilot for over 40 years and was certified as UAS pilot 3 years ago.  He also served as a search pilot for the Civil Air Patrol for 15 years. 
Ted was awarded the Medal of Valor for the Las Vegas Shooting in 2017.
