Drones are rapidly becoming a key player in natural disaster response efforts, especially in the energy and utilities sector. We are starting to see drones as the first responder to safely assess the scene before sending ground crews into the disaster, but also to gather data that will aid in an efficient recovery from these disasters. Presenters will explore specific use cases that detail their drone operations in disaster management from restoring power grids to reopening major roadways, outlining what kind of conditions they faced and how they used drones to get over those obstacles. Additionally, a panel will discuss methods for preparing and planning ahead of disasters and what that means for their drone program.
