Brian Hon

Sergeant Hon became a Correctional Officer in February of 2005 for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.  In September of 2005, Sergeant Hon attended the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Academy while employed by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.  Upon graduation he was assigned a position as a Patrol Deputy in the Foothills District of Tucson.

In 2007, Sergeant Hon transferred employment to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, where as a Highway Patrol Officer, he spent five (5) years in Salome Arizona and three (3) years in Ajo Arizona. His duties included traffic enforcement, collision investigation, impaired driver enforcement and highway criminal interdiction and investigations and assisting other agencies with traffic and criminal investigations.  In 2016 Sergeant Hon was assigned as a Detective in the Arizona Department of Public Safety Vehicular Crimes Unit where his duties included the investigation of serious and high liability collisions as well as assisting other workgroups with in-depth investigations as a Collision Reconstructionist.

In 2017, Sergeant Hon became an FAA Part 107 certified UAS Pilot and began assisting in the implementation of a UAS/Drone program within the Vehicular Crimes Unit for the primary purpose of scene documentation and collision investigation.  Using various UAS platforms and software, Sergeant Hon has documented many scenes, to include a three-dimensional rendering of the entire Biosphere 2 facility in Oracle Arizona.

In 2024, Sergeant Hon promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to Aviation and the program he helped create, the UAS Program, where he is currently assigned.
