Jenn Player is the Vice President of Global Aviation Regulatory Affairs at Skydio, where she leads engagement with customers, regulators, and standards organizations to advance autonomous drone operations and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flight.
She chairs the Operations Subcommittee of the ASTM F38 Committee on UAS Technical Standards and served as the industry lead for the Aircraft and Systems Working Group of the FAA’s UAS BVLOS Aviation Rulemaking Committee. Jenn also served on the FAA’s UAS Detection and Mitigation Rulemaking Committee.
With over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Jenn has held technical roles at NASA Langley, Cessna, and the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command. She brings more than a decade of expertise in uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), including research, testing, and operations. As part of the FAA’s Pathfinder Program with BNSF Railway, she led early efforts to integrate drones into the National Airspace System—resulting in the first long-range, civil BVLOS flight in the continental U.S.
Before joining Skydio, Jenn founded Avineer LLC, a consulting firm supporting drone delivery manufacturers in the type certification process and helping enterprises secure approvals for BVLOS and other complex operations.
Jenn holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, along with an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate and a Private Pilot Certificate with ratings in single-engine airplanes and gliders.
