Matt Gulsvig

Matt Gulsvig is a trailblazer in the integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) within the telecommunications industry. A founding member and the Chief Pilot of the American Tower UAS Operations Program, Matt has been at the forefront of remote vehicle innovation, transforming a lifelong passion into a pioneering career.

After earning his degree in Wireless Communications and Electronics from South Central Tech in 1999, Matt began applying his technical expertise to the telecommunications industry. In 2013, he blended the telecommunications sector with unmanned technologies, combining his deep understanding of wireless systems with Uncrewed Aerial Systems.

In 2017, Matt launched the UAS Program at American Tower, where he led and scaled operations to include over 160 pilots nationwide. Under his leadership, the program became a model of safe, repeatable, and enterprise-level UAS deployment.

Now serving as Sr. Program Manager of Hardware Solutions, Matt continues to drive innovation by integrating uncrewed systems with cutting-edge strategies. His work is focused on enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and scalability—cementing his role as a visionary leader in the intersection of uncrewed technologies and telecommunications.
