Stephen Michna

Stephen Michna is the State Program Manager for UAS at the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he leads the agency’s statewide drone program and oversees UAS operations, training, compliance, and innovation. A civil engineer with more than 15 years of experience in engineering, energy, and public infrastructure, he previously led drone engineering operations for Eversource Energy and has worked across renewable energy, utility infrastructure, and risk management. In addition to his professional career, Stephen serves as a certified EMT, firefighter, and small business owner, bringing a unique blend of technical expertise, public service, and leadership to advancing the safe and effective use of emerging technologies.
