Dallas Brooks

Dallas Brooks is the Aviation Regulatory Lead for Wing, an Alphabet company.  In this role, he leads the regulatory affairs group setting Wing’s aviation regulatory strategy and shaping Issue agendas with aviation regulators.  He is responsible for leading Wing’s interactions with global aviation regulators, gaining regulatory approval of Wing’s operations globally, and representing Wing before regulatory and industry bodies setting UAS regulatory frameworks.

Prior to joining Wing, Dallas held a variety of leadership positions in government, academia and industry, including multiple roles directing and supporting the Federal government’s UAS integration efforts.  He founded and co-chaired the Federal UAS Science and Research Panel, founded and served as the first Director of the FAA’s UAS Safety Research Center, and served as the Associate Director of the FAA’s UAS Center of Excellence.

Dallas is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), and has served on multiple standards bodies and committees, including five UAS Aviation Rulemaking Committees.  He is an FAA-licensed Commercial Pilot with Instrument Rating, and an FAA-licensed Remote Pilot.

Dallas retired from the US Air Force at a Lieutenant Colonel in 2010 after a 26-year career as an Officer, non-Commissioned Officer and Airman.  His prior military UAS leadership roles include the Co-Chair of the Department of Defense UAS Integration IPT, the Military Director of the DoD Policy Board on Federal Aviation, and the Chief of UAS Integration for Headquarters United States Air Force.
