What is it?
Lifeseeker is based on a simple premise: the cell phone is the world’s most widespread beacon. Lifeseeker takes advantage of this and turns these widely used devices into emergency beacons capable of guiding rescue teams to an exact location.
Lifeseeker is the airborne phone location system, a technology capable of finding missing people through their mobile phone, even in areas with no network coverage and with unfavorable weather conditions. It can be used both in manned vehicle.
This device turns mobile phones into emergency beacons that allow search and rescue teams to quickly guide them to the exact location of the missing person.
Who is using it?
Lifeseeker is already being used by over 35 Search and Rescue operators around the world and has been deployed in more than 220 successful missions. Some of the most notable users include the Swiss Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Spanish Guardia Civil, Vigili del Fuoco in Italy, Bombers d’Andorra, and the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
How is it making an Impact?
Lifeseeker’s impact on emergency missions is impressive. It maximizes mission effectiveness by significantly reducing the time required to locate and rescue people in distress. This not only increases the chances of rescue success, but also minimizes the risks faced by SAR personnel, who are often exposed to hazardous conditions.
Lifeseeker has been used many times to save lives during search and rescue missions. For example, the Italian Firefighters used Lifeseeker to locate an elderly man who got lost while searching for mushrooms in the woods. Despite hours of unsuccessful searching, Lifeseeker was able to locate the man in less than 10 minutes.
